Specialty Insurance Coverage for Colorado Nurseries and Greenhouses
Hail season in Colorado runs from mid-April to mid-September, with the most damaging and most frequent storms typically occurring in June. Colorado’s Front Range is located in the heart of “Hail Alley,” which receives the highest frequency of large hail in North America and most of the world, so residents usually can count on three or four catastrophic (defined as at least $25 million in insured damage) hailstorms every year.
Colorado nurseries and greenhouses run the risk of being hit hard during hail season in Colorado.
This being said, our team at RSS offers a very flexible crop and hail insurance solution for nursery and greenhouse growers. The parametric hail solution addresses: Building and Property Deductibles, Inventory Deductibles, Inventory Shortages, Balance Sheet Protection, and Claim Payment Delays.
The parametric hail solution removes the lengthy adjusting process, assures a timely payment within 7-10 business days, and gives the grower control of the process.

How does it work?
Step 1: The Grower selects a payout limit and hail size options based on the his or her unique knowledge of how weather can damage their inventory and property.
Step 2: An independent company will monitor all hail fall events in the area and notify the insured and the insurance carrier of any potential policy triggering events.
Step 3: Claim payment is made directly to the owner.
