The holidays are a magical time of year! With all the magic comes hundreds of fun activities, especially in the Denver area. We put together a list of 10 popular activities for you to choose from this holiday season.

Denver Zoo Lights: The Denver Zoo lights are available to the public until December 30th from 5:30-8:30 PM. Ticket prices range from $15-$20.

Christkindl Market: The Christkindl Market runs through December 23rd. It opens at 11 AM each day and is free to enter. Guests can find delicious cuisine, festive German drinks, handmade jewelry, toys, clothing, gifts and much more. Live entertainment is featured inside the festival tent every evening, and dancing is highly encouraged.

Blossoms of Light: The Blossoms of Light show takes place every year at the Denver Botanic Gardens until January 3rd from 5-9 PM. The Gardens’ signature event for over three decades, this annual holiday lights extravaganza transforms the Denver Botanic Gardens into a twinkling winter wonderland. With fresh and exciting new features, along with some fan favorites, this year’s display is brighter and more expansive than ever before. Dinner, holiday treats, warm drinks, HoloSpex glasses and their souvenir reusable mugs are available for purchase.

The Polar Express Train Ride: The story of The Polar Express is being theatrically re-created so you and your family can be immersed in the sights, sounds and intrigue of this classic children’s tale. Prepare to be surrounded by the magic and wonder of the holiday season! Tickets range from $60-$120 and the train rides only take place on select dates. More information is available HERE. 

Ice Skating in Downtown Denver: Ice Skate for FREE until February 16th at Skyline Park. Skate rentals are $7 for kids 12 & under and $9 for adults 13 & older. The rink is open from 11 AM-7PM Monday – Thursday, 10 AM- 10PM Friday & Saturday and 10 AM-6PM on Sunday.

9News Parade of Lights: The 9NEWS Parade of Lights is a magical nighttime event, which features more than 40 units including extravagantly illuminated floats, giant helium-filled character balloons, magnificent marching bands, traditional equestrian units and vibrant cultural entries. Watch the parade at Civic Center Park on Friday December 6th at 8 PM and Saturday December 7th at 6 PM.

Santa’s Flight Academy: Santa’s Flight Academy is a personalized holiday adventure at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Each visiting cadet receives a flight crew badge then, as an elite member of Santa’s flight crew, is fitted with a virtual flight suit. From there, the cadet partners with a helpful elf to inspect and power Santa’s sleigh using a series of interactive stations. The visit culminates with a snowfall dance party and a visit with Santa. This event runs through December 24th and is free. Photo packages are available for purchase.

Westminster Holiday Lighting Ceremony: Location-Westminster City Hall. Experience the magical wonderland of lights and the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony, complete with live holiday music, food trucks, carnival games, and of course, a visit with Santa! The full-size sleigh and kid-size train are perfect settings for family photos. Dress warmly—the event is mostly outside!

Santa’s Holiday Party: Stop by Kokopelli Beer Company in Westminster on December 21st from 11 AM-3PM to visit with Santa and do some shopping with local vendors!

Donate toys to A Precious Child: Our team at RSS is hosting a toy drive at our office for A Precious Child until December 10th. New toys can be dropped off or shipped to 3640 W. 112th Avenue Westminster, CO 80031. Toys can also be shipped or dropped off to A Precious Child. Donate food or volunteer at a local food pantry: Consider donating or volunteering with a local food Pantry. Food Bank of the Rockies and Food for Hope are two fantastic organizations in the Denver community.
