itsshoeboxtime_001Our agency is partnering with Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse again this year to help provide gift-filled shoeboxes and to share God’s love to needy children in poverty stricken countries around the world this Christmas.  Samaritan’s Purse hopes to collect enough shoeboxes to reach 10 million children this year through the OCC project.
How does our agency help? We will fill as many shoe boxes as we can with gifts of toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement.  We will be collecting items for the boxes October 10th-November 11th in our office.  We will have a collection box out front for our RSS team and customers to drop off items. Then on Tuesday, November 15th our office will close early so our team can fill the shoeboxes we will donate.  We will then deliver our boxes to their Denver Distribution Center that same week-“National Collection Week.”
We are excited to see how many boxes we can fill!  We will post updates about how many boxes we are able to donate through Facebook, Twitter, Google+,  LinkedIn and in our November newsletter. We are also very excited to announce that the RSS team will be volunteering in the OCC Denver Processing Center on December 2nd this year! We’ll make sure to also update you on our experience there as well. In the meantime,  CLICK HERE for more information about Operation Christmas Child.
Here is a list of suggested items we will be collecting for donation.  Please keep in mind that these items must fit in a shoebox.   Also, please note the items that OCC will not send in the boxes.
