A new year means one thing: a fresh start. Each year millions of people create goals to start bettering themselves on January 1st, with the hope they will stick to the resolutions they have made.
The concept of New Year’s resolutions has been around for over 4,000 years. It originally started as a religious tradition in which many different cultures made promises to uphold their religion. Nowadays, New Year’s Resolutions are known as an attempt we make to improve ourselves. Whether it’s cutting out sweets, getting to the gym or accomplishing goals at work, we aim for self-improvement through our resolutions each year.
According to research, 45% of Americans say they typically make New Year’s resolutions, but how many achieve their goals? According to a recent study, only 8 percent of people are successful in completing their New Year’s resolutions.
